Storytelling
Glutch and Slugs is a theatre company that has been providing interactive storytelling with a difference aimed at children aged 4-11 years old for over a year. But now there’s a new branch of the theatre which caters for a younger audience, it’s called Gremlins and Gooch. Gremlins and Gooch is designed for 0-4 year olds and is designed in the same way to develop the child’s concept of narrative and stories. Using textured props and atmospheric music even the youngest tots can benefit.
The audience are invited to step up and have a go for themselves in this great mixture of entertainment and education. The production is designed to include all children, building their confidence and enticing them into a world ruled by their imagination alone!
The storyteller appears in the guise of a chosen character and the children are invited to imagine them out of a sticky situation using mysterious clues, it could be a pirate who's lost her mate; a Roman who has roamed too far; or a Viking with no Vike!
We have a number of popular characters, but new characters are always arriving on the scene and special productions can be tailored to deal with specific National Curriculum topics. Characters appearing in situ at historical sites are a great opportunity to educate and excite children about their surroundings, or if you know a special group of children who want a special kind of tale, let us know.
